IS HIRING A REALTOR WORTH IT?
You go to a hairdresser when you need a haircut; you call a mechanic when your engine light goes on, and you see a doctor when you're sick. You put your looks, safety, and health in the hands of a professional, so why not your home?
Sure, you can purchase and sell things online nowadays. And a lot of us do! But that doesn’t mean it's the best option for what is probably the biggest investment of your life.
Need some more convincing? We rounded up 3 of the many reasons why hiring a Realtor is the best thing you can do.
BUYERS, qualified and educated buyers. The majority of buyers working with a Realtor have been qualified and want that one on one interaction with someone they can trust and ask advice from. This means when your home is listed with a Realtor and put on MLS, agents who show your home are showing it to buyers who would actually purchase and close on your home. This takes time out of the equation that you may have spent showing unqualified buyers your home.
MARKET VALUE is all about exposure. If your home is not marketed to the right audience, how do you expect to get the highest price for it? It isn’t just about throwing a random price on your home and posting it on social media. As Realtors, we see what homes are listed and sold for every single day. We see what buyers want and what they are willing to pay. It gives us the knowledge and experience we need to successfully price and maneuver a deal. That being said, when your home is listed, priced and marketed by a professional, it makes it easier for banks and lenders to finance. When sold privately, it may be harder to finance, as banks and lenders do not know its true market value.
TEAMWORK. Together, we work to make this transition flow as smoothly as possible. Many times, your home is just that, your home. And nothing makes buyers more uncomfortable than critiquing a home in front of the homeowner. That's where we come in; we are here to represent your best interest in the transaction and negotiate the best terms. It can be a very emotional time, and as your Realtors, we understand the huge amount of trust you're placing in us - and we don't take that lightly.
You've heard the saying “you get what you pay for". We know that there are private sale options and discount brokerages offering basic help for a nominal fee, and we understand that our fees are much higher than theirs. What you don’t see is all the work we put in behind the scenes. We spend 24/7 thinking about, dealing with and dreaming about real estate. When you work with us, we are there to support you from beginning to end.
If you sell privately or go with a discount brokerage, you may end up “saving” money on the commission. But if your home didn't get the right exposure and true market value, did you really end up saving money? Or did you just leave it on the table?
